Don Carter State Park

BARF 4 (Biking Across the Rails of Florida)

Day 1 – Jekyll Island
My mom and dad are the best. They planned their bike trip around me! First stop to Driftwood Beach on Jekyll Island. They love dogs here.

Day 2 – Jekyll Island
A beautiful day on the island. Mom got in a LONG ride – pedaling from end to end. I got five walks and lots of naps.

Day 3 – Jekyll Island
Another great day. Mom said they rode backwards. I wish I could have seen that but I was napping after my 5 walks yesterday. This is a tabby house… not to be confused with a tabby cat which I saw under a house!

Day 4 – Cary State Forest
Free range at last. Mom and dad rode early and then took me on a nature hike. No leash! I tracked something for a LONG time, but sadly, it got away. Next time!

Day 5 – Mike Roess State Park
Leaving the forest and I got to ride shotgun. The park is interesting but not very pretty. It’s been hot, humid and rainy. I’m glad mom and dad trust me to guard the tiny house while they ride.

Day 6 – Lake Butler Trail
Happy National Trails Day. Long ride for mom and dad. More napping for me!

Day 7 – Ross Prairie State Park
A rest day! Mom used the app BringFido to find a fun place for us to eat- StumpKnockers. They love dogs and I got to swim, have a snack and get lots of pets.

Day 8 – Holder Mine Campground
Mom and dad rode half of the Withlacoochee Trail today. I had shade and Spanish moss.

Day 9 -Withlacoochee Trail
Another great day in the woods. Mom and dad rode the rest of their trail and I got more napping done!

Day 10 – Manatee Springs
Oh boy! The Catfish Hole. I jumped right in but no cats! Of course, I got a bath!

Day 11 – Nature Coast Trail
Mom said no nature and no coast but a good ride. I missed them but enjoyed guarding the tiny house!

Day 12 – Ocholocknee State Park
Today was Gracie day. Lots of swims and walks and naps!

Day 13 – Tallahassee – St. Marks Trail
Mom and dad finished with the first trail they rode in Florida over 10 years ago. 331 miles in the saddle. I’m so proud of them.

Indian Pass
Happy fall y’all! We enjoyed a great long weekend at the Indian Pass Campground. The beach there is dog friendly so Anna and I had a blast! You can’t see us in the pictures because we are running around leash – free!!!
